2019-2020
During the 2019/20 term, the Nine elaborated documents with recommendations on the following topics:
- National Diversity amongst Members of the Employed Personnel: We reviewed the present status of national diversity at CERN and the risks associated with losing the national diversity.
- Sustainability and Environmental Protection: We analysed the actions taken by CERN in terms of sustainability, environment protection and support to individuals on those matters and compared with the best practises currently enforced by our member states.
- Non-staff workforce: We studied non-staff programs evaluating the appropriateness of their usage, their value for those participating and for our member states, and how they compare to similar programs in other organisations.
- Support structure for work-related conflicts: We reviewed the structure offered by CERN to support personnel facing unresolved work-conflicts and the opportunity of a mediation process to which conflicting parties can turn at an early stage
- Development opportunities for leadership: We investigated how the leadership culture at CERN and the current development opportunities are aligned with CERN requirements.
- Perception of CERN: We have drawn attention to some aspects of the member states’ and non-member states’ perception of CERN, in particular from the point of view of the authorities in direct contact with CERN and the user community.
